Like many clubs we are always looking for new members and volunteers. We also have the problem that many racing clubs have across the country. A backup crew.

Most of the cyclists want to race. Unlike many other sports,  cyclists have no real retirement age. So if cyclists don’t retire we don’t  have many candidates for a backup crew. We are currently looking for such people.

What does the task entail?

Well the glamorous side is driving the team car, seeing the action and not having the sore legs afterwards. The not so glamorous side is giving out bottles, food, encouragement, time gaps and spare wheels.

Experience of racing would really help. But calmness under pressure is essential. Maybe there is such a person out there!

If that is you and you are willing to help out at some Sunday/Bank Holiday races then give us a shout.
